Expertise in “Advanced Recycling Technologies” for Polymeric Waste
ICARBON uses its developed hydrothermal technology and catalyst systems to upcycle waste from the polymer industry, where conventional recycling methods are inadequate and cannot provide sustainable solutions. Our hydrothermal technology falls under the umbrella of "Advanced Recycling" technologies and is a leading technology group in green chemistry, advancing recycling technologies even further. With the technological processes we have developed, we can successfully utilize all elastomer groups (patented in Türkiye), polyurethane, composites, polyolefin group plastics, silicone, technical textiles, and renewable energy sources (windmills blades, solar panels, etc.) in the depolymerization of materials. With our developed technological process, we are able to recover the most basic raw materials from these polymeric wastes at high purity and develop advanced materials.

Brief description of my Organisation
ICARBON primarily enables the sustainable recycling of industrial waste polymers using advanced recycling technologies, focusing on producing high commercial value-added upcycled products from these wastes.
ICARBON was established in October 2020 with investment capital support from TÜBİTAK 1512 Teknogirişim. We have developed two different technologies and six different products for the recycling of elastomeric materials. These efforts have earned us first-place and achievement awards from the İKMİB (Istanbul Chemicals and Products Exporters' Association) and the TET (Electrical and Electronics Exporters' Association). In the following period, these R&D and P&D efforts were developed into training sets, and training was provided to 35 companies under the umbrella of ICARBON and the Rubber Association. The first commercial gains were achieved following these training sessions.
Icarbon received its first investment from Sabancı ARF in March 2025, at a valuation of US$2.8 million. This initial investment is being used to scale its operations. Pilot production lines were relocated to Çerkezköy, a first for the chemical start-up ecosystem, as part of a strategic product development initiative, with an investment from Derby Conveyor Belt, located in Çerkezköy. As part of our strategic collaboration with a leading rubber company in its field, we have successfully launched mass production of some of the outputs in the region.
