Smart energy, mobility and AI
GECAD (Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development) at ISEP offers extensive expertise in smart energy systems, sustainable mobility, and artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on innovative solutions to support the energy transition and decarbonization goals.
Our research integrates advanced AI methodologies, optimization algorithms, and decision-support systems to tackle complex challenges in energy resource management, smart grid operations, and electric mobility. GECAD has contributed significantly to international and national projects such as Horizon 2020 and FCT-funded initiatives, achieving impactful results in areas like demand-side flexibility, distributed energy resource integration, and local electricity market frameworks.
