SOCAR R&D
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) R&D and Innovation Co., which is located in western Turkey in İzmir, Aliağa. SOCAR has an integrated petrochemical and refining site in the town of Aliağa, İzmir and as the R&D and Innovation Company.
SOCAR R&D can demonstrate and validate the industrial feasibility and cost effectiveness of the technologies up to TRL 7 with its lab, pilot and petrochemical/refinery field operations.
We have 4 funded EU projects which is CARMOF, CO2Fokus, NEFERTITI & LOUISE.
CARMOF; SOCAR R&D Working Area
Evaluation of demonstrator efficiency (absorption and desorption process) in each industrial demonstrator, Preparation of Guide of use and maintenance of solid dry CO2 adsorbers based on 3D printed hybrid structures installed in hybrid VTSA technologies.
CO2Fokus:SOCAR R&D Working Area:
Reaction optimization and process integration of the test system obtained by scaling for operation in industrial plants.
NEFERTITI;SOCAR R&D Working Area
Integration and validation of the NEFERTITI system
SOCAR will support with the infrastructure to carry out the proposed activities and perform the validation tests and provide specification requirements for ethanol and other alcohols synthesis according to their needs.
LOUISE;Within the LOUISE project, SOCAR Turkey R&D will contribute to the LOUlSE as an ExternalAdvisory Board members in project

Brief description of my Organisation
SOCAR Türkiye Enerji A.Ş. (SOCAR Turkey), a subsidiary of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic) which is one of the most deep-rooted global oil and natural gas companies, initiated its business operations in Turkey upon acquisition of 51 percent of the shares of Petkim from the Turkish Privatization Administration in 2008. SOCAR TürkiyeEnerji A.Ş., is an affiliate of SOCAR (“State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic), one of the most well-established oil and natural gas companies of the world. SOCAR’s group companies in Turkey, namely SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation, Petkim, STAR Refinery, Petlim Container Terminal and Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) represent the largest-scale investment Azerbaijan has made to a single country with a volume of USD 19.5 billion.
SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation team is doing research mainly on product and process development in petrochemicals and refinery branches. R&D activities serve to petrochemicals, plastics, materials, chemistry and packaging sectors with the rheology,polymer characterization, chromatography, chemical analysis, environment and biotechnology, catalysis laboratories and a pilot plant.
SOCAR, as a leader in Turkish petrochemical industry, can add value to any consortium by the industrial experience on petrochemical production plants and utility production processes in Petkim and refinery processes in STAR sites with its researchers and engineers.
