CoolZero – Zero-Carbon Solar-Driven DC Cooling System for Cold Chain Logistics Integrated with PCM & MOF
We propose to develop a fully integrated, zero carbon cooling and energy efficient system for cold chain logistics, combining:
- A DC motor-driven refrigeration unit powered by on-site solar panels
- PCM (Phase Change Material) thermal storage plates to buffer and flatten cooling demand
- MOF (Metal-Organic Framework) enhanced heat exchangers to increase thermal efficiency
- IoT / smart control and monitoring, including real-time performance monitoring, adaptive control (optimizing solar harvest), preventive maintenance, and cold chain tracking
This system aims to maintain continuous cold chain reliability while minimizing operational emissions and maximizing energy efficiency. We intend to validate performance under different temperature profiles, optimize control algorithms, and demonstrate scalability in a real logistics scenario.
