HydroGrid+ is a groundbreaking €3.8M initiative developing the first integrated platform combining green hydrogen microgrids with blockchain-enabled peer-to-peer energy trading. Over 36 months, we will advance from TRL 5 to TRL 7 through pilot deployment, addressing Europe's energy trilemma: decarbonization, security, and affordability.

Our solution integrates four transformative technologies: (1) AI-optimized PEM electrolysis (500kW-2MW) powered by renewables with IoT-monitored hydrogen storage; (2) Smart AC/DC hybrid microgrids capable of grid-connected and islanded operation with virtual power plant aggregation; (3) Blockchain P2P trading platform using Proof-of-Authority consensus with real-time dynamic pricing, flexibility marketplace, and carbon credit tokenization; (4) Digital twin with ML-powered load forecasting, predictive maintenance, and edge computing for sub-10ms latency decisions.

HydroGrid+ achieves 100% alignment with Eurogia2030's 5Ds: Decarbonisation (80-95% CO₂ reduction, 500-2,000 tonnes/year per installation), Decentralisation (energy independence for remote communities, reduced transmission losses), Digitalisation (20-30% efficiency gains through AI optimization), Democratisation (40-60% cost savings for prosumers, new income streams), and Deregulation (transparent blockchain market mechanisms, automated compliance).

The project targets €200-350B global hydrogen economy and €30-60B blockchain energy market by 2030. Our multi-revenue model includes energy sales, grid services, platform fees, carbon credits, and technology licensing. We will validate the system through a community pilot with 50+ active prosumers, demonstrating commercial viability for remote communities, industrial parks, and smart urban districts.
