Plasma Heated Interfluid Transfer System (PIHTS) for High Temperature Industrial Processes
The invention belongs to the field of zero-carbon emission heating and energy transfer systems, developed as an alternative to fossil fuel boiler and furnace systems used in industrial processes requiring high temperatures (particularly cement, iron and steel, chemical, and energy production).PURPOSE AND SOLUTION OF THE INVENTION
The purpose of the invention is to overcome the aforementioned problems of fossil fuel dependence and engineering complexity by using high-temperature plasma energy. Solution Principle:
The invention is based on the transfer of heat from a high-temperature plasma (hydrogen or inert gas based) to a low-cost and reliable Intermediate Heat Transfer Medium (IHTM) without damaging sensitive process pipelines, and the provision of industrial heat through this medium.INNOVATION AND CLAIMS OF THE INVENTION
It is a system that combines a fossil fuel-free, plasma-based primary heat source with a cost-effective, proven heat transfer technology (Fluidized Bed/Molten Salt) on an industrial scale.
Management of High Temperature Stress: By limiting the excessive plasma temperature only within the IHTM reactor, the need for expensive magnetic confinement or ultra-robust piping throughout the entire system is eliminated.
Ease of Operation: The heat transfer performance of plasma and IHTM can be rapidly adjusted, providing much more dynamic and precise temperature control compared to conventional furnaces.
Its ability to store thermal energy (in the case of using Molten Salt IHTM) allows for the continuous use of intermittent renewable energy sources in industrial processes.
